Now that I have a camera phone though I’m definitely enjoying the ability to freely take photos of any and everything I see or find interesting or unique (Some of my twitter followers may have noticed in increase in twitpics)

Mom and Dad, I love you guys. Congratulations on making it another year. You guys are both a pain in the butt to me and to each other sometimes, but I love you none the less, and I know you both love each other as well. GOD bless you guys.

Nat and I finally have returned from our vacation. We spend a week in San Antonio where she’s from and her family lives.

I’m not usually one to take vacations from work but this was one that was definitely needed.

We spent 14 hours on the road to Texas from Florida and were greated by some nice chilly and windy weather. Not quite what I had in mind, but it was just fine with me because I was going to get to relax and chill regardless of the weather.

Nat of course got her shopping on with her mom and we managed to catch up with some old friends and family. Nat’s dad was kind enough to postpone a post fantasy football party until we were able to get in town.

We managed a short trip to Austin where I met with my childhood friend Paul and was able to do some impromptu rock climbing and Nat was able to hang out with her cousin Melissa and meet her boyfriend Will; they drove in to Austin from Dallas to meet up with us.

Due to some traffic problems in Texas and in Louisiana, we got home a little later than we had anticipated (1:30 am) but that’s why I always add a ‘buffer’ day at the end of vacations. Expect the unexpected.

While it’s nice to be back home, it certainly would be nice if our holiday would have lasted a little longer. Maybe next time we’ll take two weeks instead of just one.

Today marks my wife’s 26th birthday. Happy Birthday babe, I love you.

Also, for kicks that night, I decided it would be fun to fire up the laptop and play some guitar in front of it. Blake did a little conga work while pops did some guitar playing and singing. I may have showed up in this recording with some Sammy J originals, but I don’t remember. This was recorded live and then streamed over the internet. Nat’s mom got to see us and watch us play and say hi. I think that’s awesome. I’ll probably do this again, maybe some more people might be interested in showing up.

Don’t worry, Keren stopped playing the annoyingly loud guirro eventually… grrr.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the photos. Let me know what you think of them. I wish I had a nice Digital SLR to take better photos but I think these came out ok.

Yesterday morning, while I was at work, my wife sent me a text message that went a little like this:

“Hey babe, do you have the HSA card? If so, would you pick up some contact solution and a pregnancy test for me?”

A WHAT-ENCY Test?

That was kinda a shocker for me and an interesting way to start the morning.

The above photo is of my sister Keren. Today is her birthday. She is turning 24, which is crazy because, she’s my ‘baby sister’ and sometimes it’s hard for me to let go of that in my mind.

Keren and I haven’t always had the greatest relationship in the past, and it can feel strained sometimes (more of my fault, of that I can attest), but she’s my sister and I still love her.

Keren, I want you to know that I love you and I hope you have a great birthday today. You’re inching closer to that quarter century mark, which is awesome.

Yesterday we were hanging out with my sister (Keila) and her husband (Blake) just chillin’ on a Sunday afternoon after a sweet lunch and dessert.

While sitting down on the couches, I happened to glance across and see a boogie board leaned up against the wall by the stairs.

I probably let out an “oh SNAP!” and grabbed the board, ran up the stairs and gave it a quick trial run. It worked!

Blake ran up the stairs and came down with a mattress, and well, fun was had as can be seen in the video above.

It may not be the Australian coast, but it still was fun.

This past Saturday was a pretty relaxed day. After having brunch with my sister and her husband, Nat and I headed out to the park for a little bit of kite flying action. Our friends, Juni and his wife, Christina, came out and joined us. Good time was had by all.

Suddenly everyone was holding kittens. The kittens were trained to go poop in a toilet, but not to flush. We all thought this was hilarious. Somebody also had a baby with them, and I got to hold him and babysit for a while. My mom arrived and helped me. He was a really, really cute little baby.

That is only one part of my wife’s most recent dream. There is a totally random crazy ending to it as well that I highly recommend checking out. I’m so jealous of the dreams she has. They seem so fun and vivid. Head on over to her blog to read up on her most recent crazy dream. I couldn’t help but laugh out loud.
