Slacker Uprising
by Samuel Febres
Michael Moore is releasing a movie called Slacker Uprising. Here’s the trailer.
Man, just looking at this trailer, he is very successfully reaching a whole generation of young people with a message the he fervently believes in, and those kids really appear to be eating it up.
Now, I like Moore’s movies. I find him to be funny and his movies are entertaining. I think it’s good to try to see things from a different point of view, and documentaries help to do that. I know that there are issues with his tactics, and as with any point of view, you have to take things with a grain of salt, weighing the pros and the cons of the side and issue.
Regarding this video, what’s up with the people who get up and do the Lord’s Prayer during the meeting? What did they hope to accomplish by doing that?
I look forward to downloading this movie and see what it’s all about. Will you?

Even though I am a Democrat, I will have to omit , “I can not STAND Michael Moore!”
With that said, I do plan on downloading this movie and watching. The preview looked pretty cool.
Not a fan of Michael Moore. He has a major agenda on everything. I wouldn't have a problem with him having an agenda if he didn't try and market it like he is trying to find truth and be balanced, he is simply pushing his own agenda.
I like how that girl said that it was “time for Bush to be out of office”…
no kidding… his term is over.
@Brody… ahhh, the future of America.
@Ross – Mr. Moore does have an agenda, but then again most people who share a point of view or idea do. I think it’s important to see what his point is despite his acting like he’s being fair and balanced.
I was looking forward to this movie, especially since I thought Moore would take a look at the possible election fraud, but after seeing it a few days ago cannot recommend the film. I reviewed the film the other day and rated Slacker Uprising a 4 out of 42. There is simply too much of Moore loving Moore in the film with no real substance. Like Ross said, Moore has an agenda in most of his films but here he doesn’t really push anything. It’s mostly Bush bashing and cheering Democrats.
I want my money back!
Oh wait…
I have yet to see it, but I wonder if the real reason that he’s offering it for free is because of the reasons you mentioned regarding it being more of a Bush Bash type of film.
Thanks for the link to your review, I’ll definitely check that.
Yeah, it just really seems he expected the Democrats to win and when they didn’t he had to mash together a movie somehow. It’s just surprising he didn’t naturally segue into the technical and political irregularities and issues with the actual ballot casting and voting.
Thanks for checking out the review!
